Role Purpose
The IT Lawyer – Commercial Contracts is a newly created role designed to support continued growth within the Australian region of the Global organisation.

The core purpose of the role is to review, advise upon and draft necessary amendments to contracts between Logicalis and its customers, partners, and suppliers. In addition, as you grow into the role, you will build internal relationships and develop increased confidence to make risk-based contractual decisions largely autonomously.

• Support our Senior Leadership Team establishing third-party, outsourcing and vendor relationships; inclusive of negotiating contractual terms.
• Report to our Melbourne-based General Counsel, who will provide mentoring and knowledge transfer as required to bring you up to speed on our contracting models.
• Provide accessible and practical legal advice to the sales team and its leadership to ensure consistent delivery of water-tight, logical, and commercially astute outcomes in accordance with Logicalis Group requirements.
• Assist with improving internal guidance and templates to streamline processes and provide greater transparency to our internal teams.
• Assist in continually educating and lifting IT Contract knowledge across our business and among commercial and managerial colleagues – especially where such knowledge may lead to reduced turn-around times for future contract review and approvals processes without increasing risks to the company or our shareholders.
• Maintain open lines of communication with our customer Engagement Managers. Our EM’s are our customers’ first best Logicalis advocate. Their ability to proactively communicate, manage expectations, keep promises and move with speed and agility are critical to laying down trusting foundations during those early customer interactions.
• Be comfortable working in a dynamic environment supporting a high-performance sales team, where fast turnaround times and pragmatic and consistent advice is required to satisfy internal and external stakeholders.
• Capably juggle multiple matters, some of which may involve a complex array of documents.

What will you bring?

Ideally one to two years of Post Qualification Experience working at a law firm as an ICT / Tech Contracts Lawyer. You are looking for more predictable working hours or a career with a more commercial edge. You might come with a great wealth of experience but are hoping for reduced hours down to 3 or 4 days per week. Either way, we hire for smart & authentic first. You won’t see a long list of prerequisites below, but you will certainly put yourself in the frame if you can show us the three C’s: Confidence, Capability and Curiosity.
