A little bit about the role

The Legal & Corporate Manager role sits with the Corporate Team which works intimately with the CEO and the rest of the commercial team. Your day will be jumping into activities and areas where the CEO needs to be freed up to focus on the key activities of their role, while ensuring the business is operating smoothly around them from a legal and commercial perspective. This role will suit someone who wants to transition from a pure legal role to a hybrid role where you will have input into strategic decisions around commercial facets of the business. You will be someone who can wear a variety of hats.

What your day might look like

  • All corporate legal tasks for the business (capital raises, loan facilities and other ad hoc legal tasks)
  • Acts as the key point of contact between the CEO and their internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with investor relations, including helping with the preparation of board meeting materials, investor questions and communication.
  • Work closely with the team to document key processes across the business to ensure the business is set up for scale.
  • Actively contributes to the formation and execution of the company’s strategy, both from a legal and corporate perspective. The latter may include assisting on product roadmaps, competitor analysis, hiring planning, fundraising etc.
  • Everything in between! This role is critical and varied so the person needs to be ready to jump into activities as required, fire fight, spool up new areas or run special projects, assist with shortages in teams or skills on an as required basis.  The north star of the role is to amplify the impact of the CEO.

  • Work in a high-paced, high-pressure environment with significant context-switching.
  • Is comfortable picking up something and running with it while having the awareness to bring in the right people at the right times to make certain decisions.
  • Ability to execute on the day-to-day tasks but also be strategic in your thinking
  • Can manage relationships across the company and stakeholder network, is an excellent written and verbal communicator, knows when to push back.
  • Proven track record of developing effective partnerships across groups, ability to influence senior leaders
  • At least 4+ years’ experience at a top tier law firm in either the M&A or Banking teams.
