About the role

The Faculty of Law is recruiting a Senior Lecturer to play a key role in delivering the ARITA Program. The position will be based at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo. The position may be offered as an education focused academic role (with a greater focus on teaching and program development) or a balanced academic role (which involves teaching, research, service within the university and engagement outside it) depending upon the relevant expertise of the successful applicant. Expectations for these roles are calibrated to the level of appointment and set out in detail in the Position Statement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership in the delivery and design of academic and professional programs;
  • Engaging with students, industry partners, institutes, professions and communities;
  • Undertaking activities that produce high-quality and beneficial impact;
  • Supervising and mentoring Honours, Masters and Doctoral students (as required);
  • Providing mentorship and leadership in your area of expertise.

 

About You

You will have extensive knowledge and experience of insolvency law and insolvency-specific education. You also have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor;
  • Ability to teach in the ARITA program and/or technology and law and corporate and commercial law subjects;
  • Experience mentoring and supervising staff;
  • An applicant for a balanced academic role would be expected to have research capacity and a PhD in Law or equivalent.

 

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range:  $134,178 to $154,093 pa (Level C)

These are continuing full-time positions, but may be negotiated on a fractional basis depending upon the successful applicant’s circumstances.

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
