The Opportunity

Join a dynamic legal team and help manage legal and regulatory requirements of this fast-growing company. 

This includes working with other members of the Legal team on business-as-usual activities such as the drafting, preparation and provisions of legal advice, the coordination of legal advice with external providers, reviewing and amending internal documents, contracts and other agreements, and exploring and understanding regulatory issues as they are raised from time to time. In addition, Legal will, from time to time, be assigned to one or more company projects, where you will be required to engage with the business in all legal aspects of a particular new product development or arrange for a new client. 

You will also form part of the broader Risk and Compliance team and therefore will participate in team meetings ,activities, work scheduling and strategic goals as required. 

Flexible options – work from home 2/3 days per week if desired.

Key accountabilities include: 

  • Provision of legal advice
  • Contract drafting and negotiations
  • Team projects 
  • Business support – provision of training on legal issues to the business. 
  • Legal administration – maintain proper records of matters and advice given. Assist with the management of new legal requests. 
  • Values – support the vision and values by leading by example, demonstrating professional behaviour and high standards of work
  • Work Health and Safety – Awareness of your responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all

Skills and Experience

The suitable candidate will be a lawyer with 4-8 years PQE with experience in advising on corporate/commercial matters and/or financial services regulation and/or superannuation law. Some insurance law experience could also be an advantage.

You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written and have strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage matters. 

You will be someone with sound problem-solving and analytical skills. You will be a positive and proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to change, and you will have a passion for providing outstanding service to your stakeholders.
